Using Local

These terms govern your use of Local, operated by Bad Bodega LLC. By using Local, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to agree to these terms, and at least 13 or the minimum age required where you live. If you are below the age of legal adulthood, a parent or guardian must authorize your use.

Your account

Provide accurate information, protect your login credentials, and use only accounts you are authorized to access. You are responsible for your use of Local and must notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

No harmful or deceptive use

You may not use Local to:

• Commit fraud, scams, identity theft, phishing, extortion, or other unlawful acts.
• Impersonate someone, deceive listeners about who is speaking, fabricate evidence, or bypass voice authentication.
• Clone or use another person's voice without their explicit permission, including public figures or relatives.
• Threaten, harass, stalk, exploit, or abuse people; promote violence; or facilitate sexual exploitation or abuse of children.
• Secretly capture or process others' speech, invade privacy, or disclose information you have no right to share.
• Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
• Attack the service, distribute malware, evade access or usage restrictions, harvest other users' data, or misuse provider credentials.

Follow applicable laws and the relevant service providers' acceptable-use rules. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address violations, protect people or the service, or comply with law.

Consent and voice ownership

Tell participants that Local uses automated services to process and translate speech. Obtain any consent required for capturing, transmitting, or translating their audio. Before cloning a voice, obtain the speaker's explicit permission for recording and the intended use of the clone. Stop using the voice if that permission is withdrawn.

You retain your rights in material you provide. You grant us only the permission needed to process it and send it to service providers to deliver the features you request. These terms do not give you ownership of another person's voice or identity.

Translations can be wrong

Automated captions, translations, and generated voices may contain mistakes or change meaning or tone. Confirm important details directly with the other person. Local is not an emergency service or a substitute for a qualified interpreter or professional advice in medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes situations.

Privacy and third-party services

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, including live processing and optional saved voice models. Local relies on external providers and network connectivity; features may be unavailable, delayed, or limited by provider availability and account access.

Availability and responsibility

We may change features or temporarily interrupt service for maintenance, security, or operational reasons. To the extent permitted by law, Local is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, Bad Bodega LLC is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of Local, including reliance on incorrect translations. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.

Ending use and changes

You can stop using Local at any time and contact us to request account deletion. We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated violations. We may revise these terms and will provide notice of material changes where required. The updated date will appear on this page.

For privacy requests, account or voice deletion, questions, or abuse reports, email info@badbodega.com.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services rather than relying on an in-app report.
